She has come close to winning the French but do you think she can finally survive and win it as well as putting another cherry on her cake by finishing with a career slam?

Actually, Rolland Garros is the only major Martina Hingis has a good chance of winning. Women's tennis has clearly shown anyone in the top 10 can win a Slam. Martina is now in the top 10. The speed of the other surfaces does not help her game. Martina can compete well because of her phenominal anticipation. However, the clay will force the ball to be slower and off-pace which is what Martina needs to set up those chess-like points she plays. I believe she will wim this tournament before she retires.

She grew up on clay, so you would think she would have a
chance to win it someday. The 1997 French Open final was
probably a match she could have won, if she didn't have that
horseriding accident. The 1999 French Open final loss to Graf
was the one where she totally lost it, and became a shell of
her former self. She has never been the same player since
that match, failing to win any Grand Slam singles titles.
The French Open is where she stands a good chance,
but the main obstacles in her way are the two Belgians, Kim
Clijsters and three-time French Open champion Justine
Henin-Hardenne. I would say based on her current form, the
answer is no. She needs to improve significantly for her to have
a chance to win on the red clay at Roland Garros. 2006 has been
a nice comeback season for Hingis, but she is still a few levels
away from competing for Grand Slam singles trophies right now.

You know that is a good question, can she win another grand slam? Well I think it's a very possible as Martina has got close a couple times already on her return to the professional circuit which I thought was a feat in itself. So if the opportunity is there I think she will definitely take it and hey you can never count out former slam champions and true champions of Martina Hingis's caliber. Good luck to her anyway!
