Is it possible? yes...

If you do want this done, one thing you have to make sure of is to make sure that the processor is compatible with ur motherboard. meaning has the same number of prongs or whatever. I'm not the smartest person on doing this. But i know it will also probably take up more space than ur original, so it may not fit on a laptop without altering the shape of the laptop itself. It's much easier to make changes to desktops and buy laptops how u want them to be until u get a new one.

In closing, it is possible, but its not a smart thing to try and it probably won't look right.

HP usually solder their processors to their motherboards, so ring and ask if they do that on your model before proceeding any further.
