You should not procrastinate at all. If you believe that it is bad.
If you do procrastinate later you aren't really procrastinating your procrastination, you are just prioritizing what needs to be done. By definition procrastination is to put of an action of importiance by doing something less importiant. So you can never procrastinate procrastination.
Now if you are trying to procrastinate but find that it is enevitable you should refrain from doing and it won't be procrastinating. It is like trying to not give in to an urge you aren't procrastinating by not giving in.

Better to procrastinate it later.. That way, you will end up doing the thing right now, or atleast realising the priority of it right now by putting off the 'shelving' !
Good idea to procrastinate procrastination itself !

You should procrastinate later. That way you put it off and since you're obviously a procrastinator you'll never get to it.

Ahhh procrastination. Enemy of creativity. Tomorrow I'll paint, I'll write, I'll change my life, I'll seize the day. Tomorrow never comes.
Someday I'll write a book about procrastination...if I get around to it...

Procrastinate now but do so in a useful manner. It is possible to both procrastinate and be productive.
I refer you to the following exemplary essay that explains this idea:
