The grim reality is the USA can't fight a war in Iraq, and invade North Korea at the same time. Sad, but true. Most of our military resources are in the cesspool called Iraq.

North Korea is a real threat to our nation.
Iraq was no threat.

North Korea has WMD's.
Iraq had none.

The neocons really screwed up because MOST of our military resources are in Iraq. And we are unable to deal with a real threat.

IMO this is precisely the reason why North Korea chose to conduct these tests at this moment. They know that USA is badly caught up in Iraq and cannot afford another military adventure. Also the facts that there is no oil in North Korea and it has the backing of China (though China has condemned the tests but it won't stay neurtral if USA attacked North Korea) make it a strategically unimportant and difficult target.

But IMO even North Korea is not a threat to USA (though it poses some threat to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan). Though it has conducted the test of A-bomb but according to BBC the size of the war-head is not small enough to be mounted on a missile. If it tries to mount this war-head on a plane to strike USA, it can easily be destroyed in the Pacific Ocean.

The only real threat to USA is from non-State entities. And to neutralize this threat USA needs to concentrate more on its intelligence gathering capabilities.

your speaking ignorance on this topic. Most people are ignorant, so it is not an insult.

If action is to be taken against Korea, it will be by the UN or a large coalition force. We would not be acting alone.

I would highly discourage a move on Korea until we got the blessing from China though. As they are in a position to help N. Korea, I would not want another drawn out conflict turning into a cesspool of political bullshit. We use to win wars through battle...now we sustain them with political red tape and they go nowhere.

No...the U.S. won't do anything except embargo Korea...

As for WMD...they were in Iraq...most liberals don't want to believe it because it means they have to admit Bush didn't lie.

Iraq had wmd's. They didn't have STOCKPILES of them. One wmd can kill a lot of people. We only found a few hundred, not thousands. So does that mean we didn't find them? They even found them back in '91 and '92 during desert storm. We also aren't going to war with North Korea. That is the absolute last thing anyone wants. And yes Iraq was and still is a threat to the US and the rest of the "christian" world. North Korea isn't going to do ANYTHING at all. They know what will happen. Ours are bigger and badder than theirs, and they know it. So, I think we are safe from them for now. We still need our military in Iraq until their government and military gets stronger and can protect and train themselves. And terrorist are still a big threat to the US. So, I think it is people like you who are screwing up, not "neocon's". I am not a "neocon", but I support my president, country, and the war on terror.

Once again Anthony my boy, I need to correct a few of your bad opinions or suppositions.
1) Just a fraction of American resources are tied up in Iraq. The fact is, the Pentagon is prepared for 2-1/2 wars at any given time. Granted troops are a bit thin at this point in time, however a military draft will change all that. Don't think for a moment that this option isn't on the table, and can be implemented with the stroke of a pen.
2) You mislead your readers by saying that Iraq had no WMD when the latest information that came out of Saddam's own military reported that there were WMD that were flown to Damascus, just prior to the invasion.
3) Military resources are sitting and waiting for anything we need in order to defeat N.Korea. Particularly our inventory of daisy cutters, stealth aircraft, naval fleets, missiles of various types and sizes, including enough nuclear power on every naval ship designated to carry such weaponry, to individually wipe out the entire country of N.Korea.

What is hard for me to comprehend, is how someone like you can grow up and not realize just how totally powerful the US military is, compared to most country's of the world.

Well, you certainly sound very informed. Are you certain that NK has WMD's? I know they brag about doing a test, but we have as much proof as we did before invading Iraq. That's not much.

You should read some history about World War II. It was very interesting because the United States fought a war in two theatres. They invaded Normandy and at the same time they were fighting the Japanese in the Pacific. You can find books about this war on the internet or at your local library.

What would you say if we never went to Iraq and instead were now in N korea fighting and then wait.......oh no........Iran just tested their first bomb and now we cant go there cause this neocon sent us to war with N korea.
You get my point?
Things can happen in a dozen different country's that would normally call us into action. Cant address them all. IRAQ WAS A TERRORISTIC REGIME THAT HARBORED AND TRAINED TERRORISTS THAT THREATENED OUR SECURITY! But you forgot 911. IRAQ HAD WMD'S. CHECK YOUR FACTS.

properly we face a real enemy precise now whether you do not agree. as for disaster reaction we are able to dealing with the area. i comprehend the peace nic prefer to apply the example of the twister that went by greenburg,ks as a occasion. that whether won't paintings by way of fact the ks shelter had the troops and kit to apply the democrat governor chosen to apply that as a political maneuver. i'm not worried approximately being attacked by using a "real enemy" as you call it. the militia in basic terms has to decelerate the enemy on an identical time as new troops are talked approximately as up and experienced.check out ww2 we've been completely unprepared to combat that conflict even although we knew it became coming, yet we slowed the enemy down experienced troops and as i remember gained in a decisive way.

Easy, real Americans with real American pride will rise up to the challenge. Just like they did for the Iraq war and every other war. You and other libs have no pride or faith in our military or the American people.

C) Don't forget the allies we have Japan, S.Korea, even Russia.
So you see we have allies to help us.

It doesn't make any difference.
The Democrats have already surrendered to North Korea.
They surrendered in Iraq.
They surrendered to the Terrorists.

It's hard to fight anyone when the Democrats in Congress have already surrendered.
