Most email programs allow you to keep emails forever. YOu simply don't delete them.

Instead of cluttering up your inbox with old eamils, however, you will want to create a filing system, using folders to place emails by category, or sender, or subject. You can create folders in most all programs. Check the Help files.

Hi,

If you dont delete them from your emails , it will stay as long as ur using this emails.,

Further more if you want to keep them for your reference in some other locations. there is different environments for this.

First of all what mails you are talking about , yahoo, gmail etc.,

or your office mails.

1. if you want to save yahoo or gmail . you need to subscribe to the paid accounts so that you can download to a mail client like outlook express, or outlook or Thunderbird or what every is convinent for you.

2. if dont want to subscribe , the best optiong is you have to copy each mail to a note pad and save in a folder with the subject and date.

3. If you buy or If you have an office mail then you have to use mail client like outlook express or outlook , and you have to save their personal folder file ( outlook uses .pst file ) this you can find C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst. if you save this file in a CD or Flash memory you can open you mails at any other locations in a machine which has got outlook.

I think these details are enough for your mails saving.

All the best.

If you are worried about losing it from your server (which would be very unusual) you can cut and paste it to a word/wordperfect (or even notepad) file and save it forever on your hard-drive... or if its extremely precious, make a hard copy of it and keep it in a folder in a safe in your home.

There is a horizontal menu art the top of each e-mail page. Click on "Move" and create a folder. You can name it anything you want like "old e-mail"...ect...
