V: Nice correction, indeed The Killers are American... however, your selection of Babyshambles is a) rubbish on grounds of the album not being any good and b) rubbish on the rounds of the album being released LAST year not this. Best British album of the year 2006 (thus far) is Muse: Black Holes and Revelations.

I would have to say that you will have to wait until Robbie, McFly or Will Young bring their albums out to get the best British Album, but the best album of the year is going to be Westlife's Love Album!

eriverpipe: I *knew* someone would call me out on Down in Albion, but despite the headlines the boy can write a lyric or two. I was aware it was released in 2005 - but it was November 2005, very late in the year, and it didn't really impact much until this year, and I still think it's better than anything released to date this year. I've not seen such a genuinely 'rock & roll' gig in years. Muse's Black Holes is a great album also, I grant you.
