How old were you when you started dating? If you were young, like 10 then a 10 yr courtship is a good thing if you were 20 when you started dating then I would say it's an issue for both of you. One for not wanting to commit and the other for waiting for something that's probably never going to happen.

I would say that if they COULDN'T get married one of them already is and not willing to break that marriage to continue with the 10 year relationship. But on that note, two people don't have to be married. My aunt and her b/f have been together for 25yrs without any vows. My b/f's dad has been with his lady for nearly 30 yrs with no vows. I have never been married, never plan to be and my b/f is fine with that. He has been and his happy with me as is. Some say marriage is just a piece of paper, others say it's a word before God to promise to love one another...blah, blah, blah. Our word to each other is enough and I think that He knows it.

Why does someone have to be blamed?
And why do they have to be married?
I know someone that dated for 14 years before they got married.
Just because you date for a certain number of years doesn't mean you have to get married. I will never marry again. I will live with my boyfriend for a zillion years before I get married again. We are both happy with that.
