for 2 years now i have been trying to eliminate my home of what some people have called "camel crickets". these bugs look like large jumping spiders- up to 3". we've tried fog pesticides inside and poured liquid pesticide along the basement foundation exterior walls (which seemed to have better results for a short time) but they're back in full force again. can anyone help us get rid of these awful pests once and for all???

Here's two sites for you. The first is what I used to rid my home of spiders and from what the sites says it works equally well for crickets. The second is a place to look for a pesticide solution.

I hope you find out! We have the same problem. Our garage was overrun, as well -- we solved that problem by emptying the garage, "herding" the crickets into one corner and vacuuming them up with the shop vac!! We then sealed all holes in the garage, put the trash and recyclables into sealed containers (the crickets liked to nest in them), and that seems to have worked.

But the basement is another problem. Emptying it is impossible, what with the washer, dryer, freezer & all the other storage stuff down there. We will vacuum it as well, soon, but in the meantime, we're kept busy catching the hoppers. The only other thing that seemed to help was our temporary visiting cat!! He loved to "play" with the crickets until they stopped moving. They are much easier for humans to catch then!

Good luck!

Let North Korea test a nuclear weapon down there.

The blast should be small enough that only your neighborhood will be vaporized.
