Why the double standard?

To be consequent and try to lead as a good example, yes we should. There is a discrepancy anyways between what we say and what we do.

In a way we should be the ones doing the disarming first. After all, we are the ones with most of the nukes. But i fear that the "fiscally responsible" neocons, the ones who gave us the record debt, will oppose this plan and use those nukes before we throw them away. After all, we paid for them, right?

If the UN were to vote on a resolution saying that the US should not build any more nukes then the answer is yes.

Yes, it would seem fair. But the world is not the kindergarten playground.

The United States and France can have nukes. North Korea and Iran cannot. Maybe it's "unfair," but that's the way the world is.

Absolutely. I wouldn't see anything wrong with conforming to the rules of the UN if we are making other countries do so.

Yes they should. Right after the UN has paid for all of its parking tickets.
