THC (Delta 9 tetrahydrocannibinol) is the main chemical in Cannibis that causes the "high"
Marijuana is neither a stimulant nor is it a depressant.
Some say that it is a psychoactive, others say that it isnt.
No one has EVER died from the drug.
It can cause one to have thoughts so deep and intense, that it can be scary on occations.
So could this mysterious chemical be from another planet?

Definately not from another planet. Instead, think of it as a wonderful gift given to us by mother nature. Besides the chemical THC (Which is the most mystifying) the entire plant is useful for so many reasons. The plant itself provides oxygen and nutrients to our earth, the buds provide a great high, the leaves cure many ailments, and the stems could be a very reliable substitution for cotton. All of those things said, our society will probably never be able to experience the full use of marijuana, because "Mr. Cotton" would go broke, while "Mr. Mota" would be living the hight life.

What I want to know is - if hemp was originally used to make rope, who was the first person to light it up!? A really bored sailor? Maybe it was part of an initiation ceremony. All the newbies had to smoke the rope - then came the sodomy of course.

It can cause you to become so lethargic and lazy that you become unable to function in the "real" world. It seems to perpetuate a continuous negative attitude in those who use it, even when they're "straight". Also, it apparently keeps you from being able to spell "occasionally".
Only someone with this kind of encumberance would even think that it came from another planet.

I think it is purely for pleasure. It opens up thoughts in your head you never really looked at before smoking the stuff, it can be good thoughts but also very objective thoughts too.
