What do they mean when they say, "It's a girl thing" or "It's a boy thing"?

Can you give examples of "boy things" and/or "girl things"?

It usually means it's something the other sex can't understand.u

When they say that, they are speaking of something they believe is indicative of either men or women. Girls going to the restroom in packs would be a girl thing. Or eating a whole tub of ice cream when they are upset. Men would be not asking for directions. Not hugging unless some one hit a homer or made a touch down. Some quirk of the gender.

Girl things are boys,and boy things are girls.
