I need to get ranking on google for my website. Can anyone tell me what does Google look at when selecting websites to rank

Google send out robots (spiders) to comb the networks, they pick up on the content headings, try to google for variations of your site and you'll find it. The simpler the name of the site the more likely it will be top dog.
A typical search would be, 'lake land cams', that is the top placed site try it and see what I mean.
You can go to Googles add a URL and direct it to your site.

Google also do an index search which you could sign up for. One and One offer that service free so am not sure if there is a fee.
