Yes, its called Cable Modem or Satellite. If you have a laptop, you can also get something called a nationwide access card that will let you stick the pc card into your pc slot and it will give you internet access.
Cable modem goes through your cable so you do not need a landline for it.
I currrently do not have a land line. I use cable modem and I use VOIP (vonage) as my telephone company. Vonage connects through my cable modem.

Yes, I do. I have cable and got Cable High Speed. It works just great. You can also get Hughes Net Satellite, but that is expensive. But you might find that a phone and DSL service is a cheap option. Just keep using your Cell phone.
Hey, if this is a MONEY thing with you, then check your email for free at your public library.

yes, cable connection will do.
You can even connect your GPRS activated cell phone to the PC and access the internet.
You can have a leased line (expensive and good for office use).
Or you can even get an access card for your laptop using which you can access Internet from anywhere.
You can even check WiFi services around your place.
You wont need a phone line for that as well!

First of all, there is no such thing as a stupid question, so please keep on asking - that's how wew all learn! You never know that the one that you ask is the one that hundreds of others thought about, but are too shy or forgot to ask.
Great question, by the way - you already have the answer:
YES - Wireless communication via satellite and Cable TV.

Sure you can. There is the cable connection (through CATV cable), optical fibre connection or wireless connection. (There might be other ways to connect to the Internet without telephone, depending on the country and area you are living in).
