Continuing the pill without taking the inactives will make your period stop, EVENTUALLY. I don't know how long it takes. But that's with the regular pills, there are new ones out now that work differently and may stop your period sooner.

OK. There are many strengths and formulations of contraceptive pills. Your doctor should advise you which would work best for you. I took the pill not as contraceptive, but to regulate my body's hormones through peri-menopause for several years.

I also used it to prevent an inconvenient time for my period to start by continuing to take the pill instead of pausing a week or taking a week of placebo pills. There is no harm in doing this if you allow your body to have a period every few months.

The pill doesn't make you gain weight. Since it regulates your body's hormones to a constant level, your body will respond differently to the same amount of food & exercise.

You may also find that the pill is a convenient method of birth control during the first year or so of your marriage.

The pill does not cause weight gain! It can cause increased appetite but, get some self control! The myth that the pill causes weight gain stems from the fact that every women gains weight during puberty and after puberty in her 20s whether or not she's on the pill. Also, that the older pills of the 1960s had such high levels of hormones they caused problems. The new pills are not the same. The only contraceptive proven to cause weight gain is the Depo Provera shot. If you weren't on the shot when you gained the weight, don't blame contraceptives.

You can use contraceptive to skip your period. It will not cause you to have 'dark circles under your eyes' or make your body weak. That's a myth I've never even heard of! You should go on the pill for at least 3 months to allow your body to adjust to the hormones, if you are planning to use it to sucessfully skip your period. Talk to your doctor for more information.

This is defiantly a question for your doctor. But you should get on some kind of birth control anyway so you can enjoy time with your husband before you have kids. I take Nuvaring which is a plastic ring that you wear like a tampon, you wear it for three weeks take it out a week and put another in. I love it and my doctor says you can wear it up to four weeks so you can just do a little math and make sure you won't have your period then. I've also lost weight on it and by boobs actually grew a bit from the hormone change :P

talk to your doctor - BUT i do believe the only way you can be sure of stopping your period is be using contraceptives.-you would need to get started on them now so that your boddy can adjust & you can skip the sugar pills around the time of your wedding.( the sugar pills are th ones you would normally take on the days you were menstruating)
maybe continue taking them for a couple of months after that & then stop
there are many different pills - so you would not necessarily ahve any problems with a new one

Some mexicans say that by rubbing a lime on your feet will make the blood flow stop. I don't know for sure; i've never tried this.
