Yes, I was 38, my children were 17, 15, and 12 and I had been on the Pill for 11 years when I found out I was pregnant. I had not missed a Pill (after 11 years, taking them was just part of my normal routine) nor had I been on any antibiotics. My doctors (I had Gestational Diabetes and that, combined with my age, qualified me to be a patient at the high risk diabetes clinic, so I had several doctors) were all at a loss to explain how I could possibly have ovulated after being on the Pill for so long. Just goes to show that nothing but abstinence is 100% guaranteed birth control. Put a fear in my kids, I'll tell you that. They are now 27, 25, 21, and 9. No teen pregnancies for any of them (well, not the oldest 3 anyway, the youngest currently wants to be a horse rancher in Montana when she grows up and doesn't plan to get married or have kids! LOL). My oldest has been married for 4 years and they are pregnant with our first grandchild, due in April.

Yes and yes. I got pregnant with my first and second children one month after stopping the pill. With my third, I got pregnant while taking the pill! I did not miss any pills, and I took them at the same time every day. I just figure I was meant to have three kids, and I wouldn't trade them for anything! They call me Fertile Myrtle!!!

YES! I was told by some people that it will take you years of trying to get pregnant if you have been on the pill. However, hows this for a miracle, I had to have an operation on my cervix, and i thought no kids... that was in december, came off the pill in january, (been on it for 8 years) it took one 'hows you father' and i was pregnant straight away, I am now blessed with a beautiful son who is healthy and full of fun and love. How that helps :)

Plenty of women get pregnant on the pill because plenty of women don't take it exactly as directed. Even if you take it exactly as directed, there's still a chance that you are exceptionally fertile and you get pregnant anyway. Nothing is 100% short of keeping your knees together. Yes, you can get pregnant the next time you ovulate, which may be just after you stop taking it, or it may be several months away, or it may be when cows fly.

Yup this is how we had our oldest son. I had been on the pill for 5 years (never missing any) and BAM pregnant. My middle son was conceived because I thought that breastfeeding was going to keep me from ovulating - that was a MAJOR myth. (My youngest son and this baby that I am pregnant with were both planned.) With my youngest son, I had been on the shot for 4 years and got pregnant 1 month after stopping the shot, by using an ovulation kit and the shettles method. With this pregnancy (we are hoping for a girl) we also used the shettles method, BBT and CM charting.
Good luck

I got pregnant 2 years ago, while I was on the pill (I took it at the same time every night, never missed one!) and we used a condom... but it is possible. I've had friends that it has happened to as well... Unfortunately I had a miscarriage...
