i tested positive in my self pregnancy test, i went and see my gyneacologist and he conducted a scan on me. she said i was negative. i hadn't seen my period though i am always irregular. last time i visited the doctor, she raised my hope and adviced that i did the test after one wk cos she felt i've concieved though it's too early then. today she's telling me that my womb had minor infection as a result of the reaction of some injections she gave me, though she assured me it wasn't dangerous. i'm confused and as well scared to tell my husband cos i've equally raised his hope. do you think it's right for me to continue with her. note; she is a specialst.

Have you been on fertility drugs to help you conceive? I'm not sure, so you will need to ask your doctor about this... but I think that I have read that fertility medications can interfere with home pregnancy test results.

Some tests come with a consumer information phone number that you could call regarding this too.

Doc are usualy right. I never have known an EPT test to fail tho... I would wait it out a few weeks. Tell your husband what the doctor said he has a right to know. Im sure it will be hard for the both of you if you wanted a baby and tested positive. Again, wait it out, you never know! (maybe get a second opinion) Good luck and dont give up!!!

Home pregnancy tests are not 100% accurate and should be treated as a guide only. Even tests by professionals can occasionally be inaccurate.

I'm no expert, but I expect a week is too early to tell.

From what you say it sounds like you have a good doctor. I'd stick with her.

Sorry you are disappointed and better luck next time!

from my knowledge a pregnancy test only comes out positive only if you have a hi level of hcg in your urine. I never know it to be positive when your not pregnant. I would get a second opinion from another specialist. Wait a week re-test and see what the result are. If there positive then go see another specialist. Good Luck~~~`

i don't know where some people get there info, but pregnancy test aren't going to pick up hcg levels if they aren't there! the only way that it is wrong is to have an evap line which is thinner or a different color than the test line... check out peeonastick.com

e.p.t. is not an accurate test. false positives are quite normal but you wont read that on the packaging. if you think you might be, wait it out at least a few days after your period is late then got see the DR for a blood test.
