im glad to see so many people have assisted you with words of wisdom. Finding an Agent is easier said than done. If you have the drive though good luck to you. you will have to do whatever it takes if you want it bad enough. how about joining the actors center for refreshment courses and carrer advice. you should be able tofind out all about the actors center at Equity www.equity.org Joining Equity is also a good idea as is Spotlight. Get a copy of contacts for Agent listings and Spotlight or Equity are able to help in finding the right agent for you. Good Luck and dont loose faith. x

Aside from the "advice" given above, there's worse things to do than to put together a showcase for yourself and some other people.

Pick a script or series of scenes that highlight your skills, get a director and invite as many agents, producers and casting folk as you can fit in the room. Kick *** on stage, then schmooze your *** off.

That said I'm trying to quit theatre and get a job in a bank.

Well, are you interested in tv/film or live theatre? For tv/film, LA is definitely the place to go. For live theatre, head to New York City. Start with little stuff (for film, start with independant films, extra parts, ect. Universities are great places to go to look for independant film work. For live theatre, try community theatres at first, then work up to working equity.) If you're trained already, than you should hopefully get a job right away!

If you can afford it, I would highly recommend trying to get a place on the 1 year post-grad course at LAMDA. This will refresh your skills, and also give you the show-case you will need in order to get a quality agent. In the meantime, get some new head-shots done and get your CV and photo into Spotlight.

My son at the age of 17 years joined an agency and within two weeks was starring in a film with Jennifer Lovehewitt.

Make a list of theatre companies, go and see there work, after the production, introduce yourself to the director, and ask how often he holds auditions. Tell him your background.
