My question is why do people judge me and Heavy Metal

Anyone who thinks listening to metal makes you a satanist is not worth talking seriously to. These people are ignorant, and probably listen to urban music, or R&B, in which case you can say to them:
"If it was true that listening to metal makes me a satanist, then it would also be true that listening to R&B will make you a beautiful, filthy rich, successful sex god, and looking at you I can tell that this is not the case."
This will either confuse them and therfore shut them up, or it will just shut them up.
Metal is cool. I'm with you, my friend.

Because most people are closed minded & insecure. They are jealous of the fact that you are an individual so people are going to judge. I know exactly what you are going through. I was like one of the only people who listened to heavy metal when i was younger & people looked at me like i was crazy. Seeing as how i'm from a mostly black neighborhood of course the only thing that was listened to was rap so i stood out when i would play some Slayer.
Don't worry about what other people say about your choice of music. You enjoy it & thats whats important in the long run.

I listen to heavy metal and rock as well. I guess all I can say is look at humanity. We have always tried to find a way to group people together because it makes us easier to categorize. When Elvis came along with his hips shaking it brought sex into rock. Now most rock bands talk of breaking things and anger and such, which is why we have drugs, sex and rock and roll. Its just a stigma that rock has always had, and Im sure we always will.

People judge you on the music you listen to because its what they do. My favourite trick for this is putting them off by showing an interest in something else really random and completely different.

Because people are stupid.
People call me a wannabe Puerto Rican for liking Latin music.
Just ignore them. Some people just have nothing better to do than judge someones entire personality based on the music they like (which doesn't make sense at all).

Because people speak before thinking
There are only a few Heavy Metal Songs I like
but if someone thinks you are a satanist it is them not you.
If they are finding evil in a song - it is the evil in them.

well i listen to Reggae and am living that type of life style. see im white and people have no idea that skin color has no ordeal with what your lifestyle is. its in most human nature to be judgemental because most of them are insecure in some kind of way and thats the only way they feel happy is to make someone elses life miserable. you feel that?

This is due to the fact that people like to judge. That is all there is to it. We are clannish and look for anything to exclude others who are different.
