That's a tough one to answer but I do believe the victims (and/or their families) are being seriously let down by the justice system and that sentences are not tough enough.

However, according to a report in the SUN today, Lord Phillips, the Lord Chief Justice (the most senior judge in England and Wales), seems to believe that we are TOO TOUGH when it comes to sentencing those criminals who DO get convicted of their crimes - after all the legal wrangling and point scoring.

We all pay the price of crime one way or another - even if we are not direct victims - through increased taxes, increased prices in the shops etc. etc.

Cowardly, racist scum DO NOT DESERVE the soft option of lenient sentencing - they deserve FAR WORSE!

Tell them they've been very naughty, stop their pocket money for a week and send them to bed early with no supper. Then next day send them on an all expenses paid trip to Disneyland to help them cope with the remorse they must be feeling.

Well isn't that the sort of thing that our current justice system will do?

I would probably spend all my energy seeing they were brought to justice. The sentence for a Hate Crime and second degree murder will keep them incarcerated for ever. The solution of the problem is to teach our children to love and respect each other.
I kind of understand although White as a Gay women most of the hatred i have been exposed to is from Christian Right who don,t quite understand Jesus's teachings.

If I had a son and knew who killed him, I would kill them and be prepared to do time for it. Or maybe I would hire a hit man to do it, as not sure if I could kill anyone, but to lose a son would be awful and Im sure the feeling of revenge would be high.

To spend the rest of their lifes in a cell with just a bed and a toilet. They are to stay in their cells 24 hours aday with the most basic food being served to them in there.

No windows in the cell and no forms of entertainment what so ever...... Even this would be too good for them.

I would send them to Belmarsh and put them on the muslim wing with the cat AA's. Just like they put my young blk bro's from London all the way up in Scotland, where they cant get no visits and everyones racist.

Send them to the hospital wing, then block, then back to the hosp wing. hosp wing is where you will see the maddest sickest prisoners. Its not nice.

I would tie them up in the middle of a city centre and have people from every nation surround them and throw rocks at them until they were very close to dying, then have them set alight for all to see.....surely that would stop any repeats of the same violence.
