Yahoo's pretty good at filtering junk mail out. First, turn on your bulk mail folder, than way the junk mail won't get into your inbox. Actually, before you do, select the junk mail and hit "Spam" it will report the message to Yahoo and block the address, which sometimes helps. Also, don't sign up for any crap or enter your email address on any random websites, that's a good way to get a lot of junk mail. If that doesn't work, then get a new mail account.

Login to your yahoo account.
Look at the top right corner of the window. You will see "options" written. click on it. (options > mail options), click OK to confirm, in Ymail Beta.
A separate Mail options window will open.
There you will see "Block Addresses" , Click on it.
in the next window that opens , you will see "Add Block"
Enter email address to block

or copy and paste the address from the email that you received.
click on the button named add block.
The address should appear in the box below.

That's it. You will no more receive any mail from that address which you have added to your blocked addresses list.

It is a tedious process to enter each address seperately.

I hope Yahoo will automatize this process someday.

Another way is to delete the junk mail before coming to your Inbox. But only drawback is you may loose some good mail , or mail from friends who are accustomed to send bulk mail.

Here is the procedure.
Click on options at the upper right corner.
(options > mail options in Beta)

Then Click on Spam protection.
Under spam filter. Choose "Immediately delete these messages upon receipt". (Note: If you choose this option, you will not be able to review the messages before they are deleted.)

Click on save changes button.

This will delete all spam messages addressed to your bulk mail folder.
