I need some reference though. I checked with the HM Revenue & Custom website which adminstrate National Insurance, but it doesnt say the NIC covers NHS, instead the NIC covers Jobseeker’s Allowance, Incapacity Benefit, Maternity Allowance, Basic State Pension, Additional State Pension and Bereavement Benefits that consist of Widowed Parent’s Allowance, Bereavement Allowance and Bereavement Payment. Please see http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/nic/class1.htm

So, please give reference to your answers. Thanks!

Taxation, national insurance contributions (for all of you who mock those on benefits, it is your contribution to this that pays them, wait until you fall from the ladder, crash your car, become an alcoholic or get cancer, then moan again. If you do not understand what insurance means, look it up) VAT from purchases and indeed the Lottery all help to fund The National Health Service.

This shows the importance of paying all your taxes. It makes us gentlemen/ladies to do so.Those who don't want to contribute should ask themselves,"will i ever get sick?".Its one of the things in this country i feel truly proud off!
