No, more rain hits you as you move, but the time you save getting to a dry area ultimately keeps you drier. If you just have someone run out in the rain for 2 minutes and someone walk for 2 minutes the runner will be wetter, but if the runner makes the run somewhere in about 30 seconds and the walker takes the 2 minutes then the runner will definitely be much drier

If you mean "will I get more wet if I run or walk", it works out about the same. I think New Scientist looked at this question some years ago.

It depends on the shape of your head. If you have a slopey head and long, gay hair then the rain will run off it and onto you. I, Luke, have both of these qualities and often remain dry in the rain whilst all around me flat headed short haired people cry because they are wet

I presume you mean than walking?

There was a TV show here in Britain where they actually carried out an experiment to test this. The same two blokes walked and then ran several times over the same course with the same amount of artifical rainfall.

Each time they squeezed out the water from a pair of overalls, (fresh set for each journey). There was significantly more water came out from the overalls used for the running trips than for the walking ones.

To keep as dry as possible your horizontal velocity needs to be equal to the rain's horizontal velocity. i.e. You need to walk at the same speed as the rain, and in the same direction. If the rain is fallong straight down, then standing still will ensure you keep as dry as possible (if running for cover is not an option).

you will get more wet if you run in the rain, instead of walking, but you will not get wet at all if you stay under cover.

depends on how heavy the rain is. run if its heavy, and walk if its light. Or you could just not even go outside

think i read this in a science journal once.
