i get only a very light colour when i apply henna to my hands .. how can u make them go dark?

Usually the natural redness depends upon how much heat is generated in ur hands..
you can try rubbing some balm on ur hands at night or burning cloves on a pan and putting your hands on top
best way to avoid light color however is not to wash ur hands for atleast one day after application

Apply sugar water after u apply mehndi on ur hand.good one.try this out

Firstly you should apply the oil (dont know the name) to your skin, this helps with henna dyeing your skin. Then when the henna is applied you should leave it on as long as possible.

tried and tested method: add some lemon juice or boil some tea leaves and add some of it into the mehndi. hope this helps!
