Getting to the root of the problem, some need counseling, some medication, and some find out why they are depressed, and face the problem head on, and try and deal with the issue.

I was in a depression state after breaking up with my fiance for almost 3 months, then I found someone new and I'm really happy, so just find something that you like to do and do it .

basically i would say get out of the environment that depresses you. visit someone or if you have money take a trip or vacation. this will make your mind think of other things and when you are back you have met new people. seen things you can talk about and you are not depressed any more.

there are many things that i do to get out of my depressions, read a good book, take a walk out in the sun, smoke a blunt....just find something you like and u wont be depressed anymore
