If it is a date and you asked you should pay.
*** Though you know if you can not afford to foot an entire bill you could ask if you could go dutch. Just do not ask to spring the bill when it arrives and the other person had no idea. Actually the more I think about it the more I like this idea. I was never comfortable with someone that I did not know paying for me.
You can change the rule just make sure that you communicate the rule

If a guy asks me out, I would hope that he would pay the bill. After the first date if I ask him out I would pay. If we went away I would split it.

it all depends on the person im more traditional so if the woman doesnt bring it up i pay. Some people say it depends on who asked. why cant we just all make a run for it when the bill comes it makes a hell of a first date story.

it really depends. i don't think there is a rule. my boyfriend paid on the first date and for most of the dates after. i wouldn't have minded splitting but he wouldn't have it. i think it's best for a guy to offer to pay... it gets you off on the right foot so to speak and if the relationship continues you can discuss financially what would work for you....

Women want to be equal when it suits them and not when it doesn't. They want to earn as much as men do but think men should pay for everything! haha... It depends on the women i have been on dates with women who insist on paying half but as a rule i would say offer to pay but if she wants to split it, then its there choice!

If his a quality guy he'll pay. Any quality guy would. If i was a girl and i had to split i would slap him and never return. So if he pays his a keeper.

The guy should pay if he asked her out....If the girl gets her money out and offers to pay her half, tell her you've got it...if she insist though, let her....some girls want you to know that they don't need taken care of.....How lucky you would be if that happens ??!!! Or maybe not?
