When a product is equal to zero, each factor can be set individually equal to zero. This equation has two solutions: x + 6 = 0 ==> x = -6, and x - 3 = 0 ==> x = 3.

Hi there!

the concept behind this is to think of 2 numbers that when you multiply both of them, you'll derive 0.

it's either 0 x 0 = 0
or a x 0 = 0 a can be any number
or 0 x b = 0 b can be any number

so, from this,
(x+6)(x-3)=0 is an equation of a product
multiplying x+6 and x-3.

so to have a zero answer,
either x+6 = 0 ===> x=-6
or x-3= 0 ===> x=3

cheers

since (x+6)(x+3)=0 We have
x+6=0 which implies x=-6
x+3=0 which implies x=-3
thus x=-6 or -3

x is a valve that we do not know,right.the idea(solution) is to find the value of x.if we are multiplying two numbers and the answer is 0,indefinitely one of the number or both of the numbers are =to 0.
so in this case.either the (x+6) or(x-3) has to be 0.then we take one by one,if the x+6=0 x has to be -6
if the x-3=0 x has to be 3
so the answer is x might be -6 or 3

(x+6)(x-3)=0
x+6=0; x=-6
x-3=0; x=3

x=-6 and x=3
so the equasion will be right
and the first bracket when it will be multiplied in the second
the result should be 0

x+6=0
so x=-6

x-3=0
so x=3

so this question got 2 answer

x= -6 and x=3

(x+6)(x-3)=0
x.x +6x -3x -18=0
x.x +3x = 18

x=3

there is also a formula on the basis of a quadratic equation
but this problem is very simple.

FOIL Method

(x + 6)(x - 3) = x² + 6x - 3x - 18 = x² + 3x - 18

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -s

x + 6 = x = - 6

x - 3 = x = 3
