Ive recently pruchased a starter DJ set off ebay, the set is a NUmark ion DJ02 set.. everything seems in perfect condition, but the decks are turning when switched on.. 2 black rubber bands have also come with decks but no instructions on how to fit them?! does anybody know of a simple diagram or if this is possible?

The turntable should lift off - maybe a little clip in the centre holding it. Get it off and there is a grrove around the turntable a little like a pulley and then another one that turns connected to the motor. The rubber band thing goes around both and the table is put back on and you re-fit the clip. Easier said than done - take it to a specialist shop unless - you have a lot of patience and are good at really fiddly things! New ones are tight and so harder - old ones are easier but will keep coming off if you carry the things around a lot! Get a laptop and 2000 MP3's on it and playlists - and feed it to an amp - this is the 21st century - no one uses turntables - at least use CDs. Convert all your vinyl to MP3 - it is great to use playlists on a laptop. The next track plays - if you are in the loo! Plus you can record MP3 jingles, commercials, podcasts, midi to MP3, loads of things! Advertise your DJ thing with a jingle every now and then. I would use a laptop with a CD player built in and feed the output to wireless speakers - around the room, hall or club.
