A friend & I have booked a vacation. At this moment she's out West tending a family matter (no death). I was advised by the travel agent that her Visa card has expired. I've tried to contact her by text, voicemail and email, and so far, no response. She has a mild history of not being able to be reached, & I don't know if she remembered to take her cellphone with her. I have the resources to pay her remaining portion, but not sure of what to do. What if I didn't have the money? What would you do?..pay then square up later, or teach her a lesson about her carelessness. The account must be paid by this coming Friday..I've even left voicemail at her home for the residing person to let me know if there's a number for my friend out West. Again, what would you do?

I think it would depend on how well and how long you have known this friend. If you know that this could possibly be an oversight on her part and know that she really wants to go on this trip, then I would go ahead and pay for it. You can always ask for a refund later if she decides not to go.

Pay for the trip yourself and then take someone else with you who is more responsible and who can for the most part call you back with a definate answer. She is being very inconsiderate by not calling and not letting you know something. How old is she anyway 10 ? Yes this is very childlike what she is doing and very immature and irresponsible . Not remember to take her cell phone oh please. Now when you get back send her a letter and a copy of the receipt . Tell her this is how much she owes you for being so inconsiderate.

There'd be no way I'd pay for her part. Either she comes up with the money or stay her *** at home. All I need to know is that I have my part paid for and I'm going on vacation!

What I would do is teach her a lesson and not pay for it. She needs to learn to not be so careless and this may be the time to learn. Maybe it's not meant to be paid, there's a reason for everything.

tell you what. give her time if she knows about this she will turn up when you need to go. but you have to plan stuff for thee trip. so i suggest you get prepared for the trip yourself. but if she has not paid up try not to use your money before you know she will come with you.so just wait and see. but hey enjoy your trip. maybe she knows that her c.c is expired and is just hiding so you pay and she has a free holiday. just do not pay for her yet. and if you go enjo yourself.
