Does anyone know how common it is to get tapeworms or ringworms or roundworms? I'm scared that I could have worms since I have not always washed my hands after petting my dog and stuff.

Just take some worm medicine from chemist/pharmacy just to be sure.

In future just need to wash your hands after patting animals and make sure you regularly give your pets worming medicine.

You should be paranoid.

People have been around aninmals from the inception of man. HELLO. You get worms from oral contact with animal secreations such as saliva and uncooked meat. So it is not good to let your animal lick you in the face/mouth like you see on tv commercials and in the movies.

Does your dog HAVE worms? Is there any specific reason you think you could have worms? If he goes to vet for check-ups, shots, etc. he probably does not have them. Usually dogs are on heartworm prevention medication as well. Speak to your parents and/or the vet.

First take your dog to the vet. There you can learn how to control parasites that can harm your pet. Then, you can know the signs of possible problems. Educate yourself about pet care and use good hygiene and enjoy your puppy for a long time.
