There was a game played between Georgia Tech and Cumberland College that ended in a score of 222-0, in favor of Georgia Tech, coached by John Heisman. Ironically, Coach Heisman scheduled this game because in the previous spring Cumberland defeated heisman's Georgia Tech's baseball team 22-0.

The most I've ever heard of was the 222-0 score of the Georgia Tech- Cumberland (Tenn.) game in October of 1916. The second half was cut short by 15 minutes so this incredible score was complied in only 45 MINUTES playing time!

The Georgia Tech-Cumberland game is accepted as the highest total of all time. As to how many points are possible, that is diffcult to determine. In that game, Georgia Tech had no first downs, meaning that it scored each time it touched the ball.
