Last time I went there I saw an excellent Doctor Who exhibition at the pier. There were some great clothes stores too and some nice book shops. There are supposed to be some fantastic night clubs and a wonderful gay scene (my sister travels down from Leeds for some of the gay events).
The best thing was that I could dress how I like to there and nobody passed comment.

I don't live there, but I come from Kent and have visited Brighton a few times. If you like the seaside environment, you'll love it. It's a typical seaside town. (ice cream shops line the beach, bucket and spade shops, arcades etc).

I don't know what it's like at night though... It's the gay/lesbian capital of the UK, so that's put me off going out on a night-time to be honest. Not that I'm homophobic, I'm just straight.

It is 50 years since I lived in Brighton, 22 years since I last visited, so it will have changed in many ways, but there are still many attractions and places to see.

Go to: http://tourism.brighton.co.uk/attractions/index.asp?url=Attractions

and click on the various links under "Attractions & Walks" on the left hand side of the page.

Brighton, along with its neighbouring seaside towns of Eastbourne and Worthing, is the finest seaside resort in the UK

It has become very continental - some say better, than the south of France.

Yeah I live in Brighton - your question is somewhat vague depends very much on your definition of attractions and/or nice places and what your own preferences are for such attractions and/or nice places.

If you can be more specific I can perhaps be of some use - email me: - geoff.chaplin@btinternet.com
