Ego brings growth? That is strange!. Ego destroys growth.Ego stands tall between you and all the rest of the good things, including happiness.

Only Egolessness can give you happiness and that , by itself leads to growth.But, the definition of Ego is the key to understanding it well and controlling. There is this "real" you and there is this "role" that you constantly play in the world. The dictates of this roleplay is the Ego. "I am rich. I am an engineer. I am an intellectual. I am this. I am that. This "I AM" is the role that you play and it is not the real you.

Ego brings conflict because it stems from insecurity. If you're secure in who you are and in your environment them the ego can be strunk to a point were it is hardly in existance. Growth almost always comes at the expense of someone else. Happiness stems from the reduction of the ego to the point where we are not always looking to satifiy it.

I disagree with your statement but for discussion purposes, following your line of thinking . . . if ego brings you [negative] growth, what brings you happiness? That will be a lot of sex, money, worldly possessions to make you happily busy with worldly things. Yeah, that will be what a lot of ego will provide you in growing.

to be frank, if u get all happiness, u wont be happy, coz importance of happinesss is felt and it makes u happy only after sadness, its liek u enjoy shade after being in sun, but if u r in shade always,, how do u feel in the winters,, u get seasonal dipressions,, right.

so the bottom line is oen has to seek happiness from within himself and not seek it from external sources, hence its an art of living and happiness can be achieved only by stable minds with equilibirium of mental state.
