My daughter has to wear something to high school for 80's attire. Although I was in high school during this era, I did not dress the part. Help

Wow...I remember all of those, but I didn't dress the part other than the hair. SHe had to dress this way this morning for school. Thank you. She wore Madonna hair style (she hates make-up...so no make-up), BIG earrings. A tank top under an off the shoulder top and leggings and a pair of converse.

Have her wear a sweater in a pastel color (remember everyone wore that light purple), jeans that are rolled tight at the bottom, or even better would be leg-warmers over her jeans. Hair spray her hair then use a brush to pull the sides out while blow-drying, and tease the hair up in front, the higher the better. Or if you don't have legwarmers or a pastel sweater, have her layer 2 different colored t-shirts, then have her roll her jeans tight, and wear two socks on each foot, the same colors as her shirts.

Well, starting at the feet...JELLY SHOES! If you can't find those, then look for a pair of penny loafers or a suede flat with a big buckle.
You have a few options on the pants. She could wear stretch pants that are slightly too short and then have her peg the bottom of the legs. Or, she could wear (very) ripped jeans with bright tights underneath.
The shirt could be something button-down, tied or clipped at the bottom button with a bolo tie at the neck. Also, a big string of strangely colored pearls big enough that they can be wrapped around many times and still hang loose (try a strand meant for Christmas tree decorating). Oh, and don't forget LOTS of braclets!
You could get a banana clip for her hair and the spray the heck out of her bangs with some aquanet.

When my friends and I dressed in 80s garb for halloween a few years ago, we just went to Goodwill and got everything. I think I ended up spending less than $20 on my costume. For the accessories, visit the dollar store. They have all kinds of tacky jewelry, especially this time of year. Oh, speaking of that, don't forget some big, dangly earrings....and BLUE eyeshadow.

Feathers in the hair
Ultra-teased hair
Sprinkle glitter on her eyelids, where eye shadow goes

Mini skirt or zippered-leg jeans or spandex leggings

Off-the-shoulder blouse or long T-shirt

Hoop earrings
Slouch socks
Swatch
Beads

Hi-top sneaks

Oh yeah!! Remember when Princess Di used that sapphire choker as a headband, in Australia? Your daugter could wear some kind of jewelled necklace as a headband, too.

Fluro colours, teased hair, sinch belts, bubble skirts, leggins legwarmers, choose life t-shirts, and yes the blue eye shadow is a must.

Well, knee high's, anything with shoulder-pads, leotards, leggings, straight-leg (tight at the ankles) jeans, lots of bangles (bracelets), chunky jewelry (preferably plastic), finger-less gloves, etc, etc. Don't forget big hair (crimped and/or the dandelion bangs), heavy blush (stripes) and multi-colored eye-shadow (you know, blue/purple). Almost forgot about acid-washed jeans and I did forget about jellies!
