Classic films such as Top Gun, Cocktial, and Rain Man were in my opinion awsome, but recently his more public personal views on things such as religion are tainting his reputation? should this stop him from making great films? your views on Tom Cruise please!

I watched Top Gun the other night for the first time in years, so that makes him Legend. But then you look at his newer stuff and his antics on tv and in the media and it just makes you wonder if he is extremely clever with all the media attention, or a Loser for being so off the wall.

I think Dustin Hoffman in Rainman was fantastic.

Actors like Cruise build up such a big ego that they just end up going off the rails - as seen with Cruise in recent events. Cruise isn't the first person to do this and personally I don't think he'll be booked by any big films in the future.

When an actor acts out of charater as he has, not many of the companies at Hollywood really want to book him, due to how he's perceived by the general public.

However if he does something which takes the public's eye away from his stupidness then he might stand a chance in getting some large bookings, it's doubtful but possible.

Shame for the little guy!

Legend became Cruise's first field workplace and serious flop. He have been given poor comments for it and he became reacting to the undesirable press. subsequently he stated what he stated. From there he went directly to make desirable Gun, The organization, Days of Thunder and a slew of action photographs which all in fantastic condition his photograph from faucets and volatile company. all of it pertains to something Cary grant as quickly as stated after making his first great flop. in no way bypass out of character. Cruise made his money enjoying the stunning, semi risky, rebellious guy. to this point his maximum maligned video clips are Legend, Born on the Fourth of July, and Magnolia, yet a minimum of his flops are starting to be extra perfect field workplace. the element is he needs an oscar yet he continuously comes off by way of fact a similar guy no count what he tries. Legend became a staggering fantasy movie. If he had not been Tom Cruise no physique could be speaking approximately how disillusioned they have been in him. it is on disc and has been for some years now.

i agree he has done some good movies in his early days but seems since he joined the scientology religion he went down hill fast starting with the movie vanilla sky , and magnolia, i think he has been totally brainwashed by this society, there are other big name celebrities that are scientologist ex; john travolta , but they dont seem to be as extreme as tom cruise is when it comes to certain behaviors he's displayed in public crowds, i think katie holmes is thinking shes in a nightmare now instead of her child fairtale . Tom seems to be out of his mind and nothing more then a control freak, probably why nicole kidman got out of the relationship , she had enough of him trying to control her.hopefully katie will stand up and not marry him either. its kinda a shame to say he was once a legend but now id have to agree with most of the public hes nothing more then a loser now,his own production company wanted nothing to do with him , and his movies have been slim pickings now , hes not even going to be doing the Mission impossible movies anymore, rumor has it brad pitt will be the new character in these movies. id say toms movie days are over.

Loser.
I've never thought he was that good of an actor, though he did some nice work in "Risky Business".
I thought "Top Gun" was good because of the flight sequences & Val Kilmer. "Rain Man" was Dustin Hoffman's movie, with some really nice camera work. Even Cruise's nominated performance in "Magnolia" was not that good. Granted, I really didn't like "Magnolia" very much, but I really disliked his performance.

When he was in Athens NY filming War of the World I was annoyed by the untamed crowds that invaded my space. I don't care if he is a legend or loser. No celebrity should invade your space and then freak out when some idiot invades theirs. I have a hard time caring if he is a legend or loser. What difference does it make to us mere mortals.

a person who spends years as a legend for so many people, can't change into a loser for making little mistakes or because others say that he is now . so for sure he is a great actor and a legend.

Hate to diagree, but I think he's a total Loser. I have never liked his films anyway, think he's highly over-rated and have always thought people who fancy him are a few sandwiches short of a picnic! Conclusion: Born a Loser

I wouldn't so much say a Legend but he's not a loser either! He's kind of 7.5 on the Legand to Loser to scale (1 being loser)

definite loser, of the highest order. He has never been a great actor. give me one film where his acting has been any more than adequate. I am tired of seeing him in the papers and hearing him trying to shove his religion on everybody, as soon as i hear him or see his face i turn over to something more exciting like paint dry.
