Yeah sure you have good career in IT sector. As your are from electrical background most of the compnies will expect that you have knowledge of C or C++. I would suggest you to have good command on both of these languages. Companies like TCS, infosys and FSS recruites students from electrical branches too. NIIT would better to join to do a coourse in J2EE or .NET. But if you have good command over C/C++ and you are a fresher, I dont think you need to have any course to join IT industory.

there is no need to do any auxiaollary courses.
this is so because you studied electro which is the most fundamental study for IT. you have learned to think abstract and that will give you an enourmous advantage on your coworkers
the best computer language you should prefer is basic of course but again this isnt important for someone with a background as you

Hi:
Sounds to me you are headed on the right track. I work for an IT consulting company that is the leader in "Remedy" helpdesk and managed solutions. The company is owned by an Indian gentleman who regularly brings over people from India. We actually have alot of consultants who came from India that have alot of your skills. If you have any more questions please email me. I recommend JAVA, Hyperion is very HOT, Remedy (of course), Unix skills are in demand. C##, SQL, Project Management, Always look to get certified in these skills. When you are ready to market yourself you will have a great advantage over alot of other candidates and communication skills are also very important to the employer.
I hope this was helpful.
Good luck. I am an IT recruiter so when you are ready, our company is always looking for great candidates.

Regards

yes u have,

join C-DAC's DAC course. it can be done in short time too (6 months).

Other option is doing NCST. if you can do NCST then nothing like it.

Don't even think of joining NIIT Aptech etc.
