The home dopplers usually don't work until very late into a pregnancy and only tend to cause worry and fear. Personally, we thought about picking one up so we could hear our daughter's heartbeat whenever we wanted to, but ith all the anxiety they seem to cause, we really didn't feel that it was worth it.

In a few weeks, you'll be feeling your little one dancing around in there. Just relax and hope for the best and once you start feeling movements, you will be more at ease. I know that I was.

If it were me, I would return the home doppler and see if I could get my money back, if not you could resell it on e-Bay.

Good luck.

Usually the dopplers can pick up babies heartbeat from 10 weeks into the pregnancy, however although I dont know of anyone who has got to 16 weeks without hearing the heartbeat, I would think and hope that if the scan showed a heartbeat then your baby is ok. However if your very concerned you could ask to see a specialist consultant

I have a home doppler also. The doppler doesn't work that well and sometimes I can't find the babies heartbeat on it and I am 25 weeks along. They aren't very good so try not to worry.

this is the reason i wont buy 1 more stress than its worth hunni
i think they are better used in the later months but to be honest id put it away and wait till you see your care provider, I'm sure your baby is fine and its the Doppler just not picking up the heart beat.

try not to worry to much but if you really are still concerned give your midwife a quick ring for advice.

calm down first. if it is a home-kit type doppler then it may not pick up the heartbeat for a long while yet.
There is also a good chance theat the baby's heartbeat is in sync with yours, cute huh?
get checked by the doctor and put your fears at ease.

Do not worry i asked my midwife about getting one of these dopplers at 20 weeks just after i had a stitch put in to save my baby. and they informed me they only work towards the end of pregancy and cause more stress then anything else. i gottold by my midwife if i got one i would cause more stress for my baby and alot more porblems for myself and baby. so it is up to u but i got advised not to use one.
