Hi, if you had to represent a) Mania and b) Depression graphically how would you approach it. I have thought of the more obvious ways but i'm looking for more ingenious solutions. Thankyou for you time and have a nice day today.

You could do two sets of eyes, one with two different sized pupils kinda crazy looking, the other with very sad eyes. This isnt quite graphical though.

I approach these subjects in a rational way. Look up the words in a dictionary or encyclopedia for their meaning and their thesaurus. You will end up with a wider list of words. For example some words (not all) that describe mania are:

Mania - Craze, Enthusiasm, Compulsion, Frenzy

And then try translating these words to visual elements: Sharp angles, circular or spiral compositions, diagonal lines, lots of repetition, high saturation colors, hot colors, high contrast color schemes and an image will start taking shape.

Hope it helps.

Show an illustration of a person scratching an itch relentlessly for the mania part and for the depression part, show an illustration of a person who has a business, but sells on credit, the person being drawn and haggard with his head in his hands.
