Hi Ann L

Unfortunately Yahoo! Answers is not a great forum for this kind of question. So you will get a lot of duff advice from well-meaning folk whose experience of life, and acquisition of knowledge, has been limited.

You can ignore Bodicea's suggestion. The Hospital Records Database is a joint project of the Wellcome Library and National Archives. It is obtained largely from questionnaires completed by local authority record offices, and its coverage of records held by hospitals is limited. The National Archives website advises that "if you have an enquiry about the records of specific hospitals, you should contact the relevant repository directly". In other words, in your case, you should contact the Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. However I strongly suspect that that is the last line of enquiry you wish to proceed with.

As for southernboy, he did not even read your question properly, and so directs you to the wrong county.

I believe that your best hope of acquiring information about restrictions over the land on which the hospital is located will come from the Land Registry.
