What should we do about this rouge state? Al least this time we KNOW that this country has weapons of mass destruction.

Garfields..- it is a crisis. ask the people of Japan the next time North Korea "test" a missile by firing it over their country into the Sea Of Japan. This happened a couple of months ago. Im not pro american but I think rogue states should be dealt with to keep the world safe and whether u like it or not, North Korea is a rogue state.

boardrunner94 - I think you need to check your facts. THERE ARE NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN IRAQ. None were ever found. As for being a commislamic facist, well u can take a hike. I love my country (UK) and am sick of people like u having a go at it. Just cos i said im not pro-american doesnt mean i dont like them.

North Korea is posturing. Not any more a threat today than they were a week ago, a month ago, or a year ago. At this point we are not even sure they actually detonated a nuclear weapon. Most of the world is against their actions, including traditional allies like China. The problem with this event is that it is making the Japanese nervous and we may be forced to allow them to rearm for their own security. In the end the US will bellow, the UN will debate and the North Koreans will continue to build bombs. I am finding some of the Democrat reaction amusing though. After 3 years of trashing the president for taking military action against Iraq they are now trashing him for not taking action against North Korea. Ain't hypocrisy great.
petetheman: WMDs were found in Iraq. This came in the form of shells containing Sarin and Mustard gas. These by definition are weapons of mass destruction. While it is questionable whether or not these weapons were usuable in their current form the fact that they were found is not in dispute. There has been a lot of lip service about these not being the weapons we were looking for, but ISG inspectors state that these are indeed the types of weapons in dispute in the UN resolutions and therefore the exact type of weapons we were looking for.

My greatest concern is not North Korea but the USA.... Aside from the Koren war, North Korea is bothering no-one, unlike other countries with weapons of mass destruction.... if you are concerned about a possible world war look at the situation around you at the present. If the US invasion of Iraq does not present such an opportunity then I really do not know what else might!
The world is a far more dangerous place since America and the UK decided to assume the roles of world policemen...

Rouge state? Sounds like a camp island off Spain - but seriously, think of all the alleged 'mature' states with such weapons, thousands upon thousands - but what do the fathers of such states do when a wee state (who not a lot of people know about, hence the fear - and that's what it is) has just ONE? It will only 'escalate' as you say, if the West - as they tend to do more often than not, flex their muscles and try to intimidate.
They aught to keep their hands in their pockets and discuss the result of such discoveries, amongst themselves and North Korea rather than yell and go in with all guns firing.
This is neither Grenada or the Falklands.

Well, you are not pro American, are you? What in the hell does that make you then, you commislamic fascist? Why don't you just settle for what is being done now? The UN security council is going to fix it for you. They are going to have some SEVERE REPRIMANDS for this rogue state. Isn't that the proper way to do it? Then after about 4 more years when this rogue state has thumbed its nose at the UN, maybe you can get YOUR country to do something. You seem to have forgotten that the entire world KNEW that Iraq had WMDs before the USA went into Iraq. Why don't you just shut up your stupid whining and go sit in the corner?

No, that wouldn't happen they dont have alot of oil for the US/UK to aquire.
The 2 major countries (Russia/ China) that might of helped them have already condemed the test already so, don't think so.
They are only trying to provoke the UN/ US to do something stupid, and chances are it they will be attacked by Bush sooner or later, as that will be the next war on terror, only because they can't find any body important in Afganistan or Control Iraq, Can't go into Iran as that will only P off more muslims.

They have to have allies...Japan, China, South Korea are all trying to convince N. Korea to stand down and stop provoking. It won't be a world war, but only the world against North Korea (and Terrorists, too). It's no secret that the US and other allies to the US have nuclear weapons also...if North Korea breaks the No-Nuclear Warfare pact, we have no choice but to fight back using it as well.

you can't account for this rouge state (america) and its lackey.
NK will have WMDs, there's nothing we're going to do to stop them and politically i think it's a good thing so the next time Bush gets a wild idea that the UN dont' condone an the the worlds ambassadors and other leaders disagree with, the presence of NK might help him to curb his enthusiasm

Hmmm.... I see nothing wrong with a country having weapons of mass destruction.
U.S. and the U.K. have and yet they condemn Nokor for developing the same weapons they have.
I dont think anything is wrong with WMDs unless it is used to kill innocents, civilians.

No, as even if it would lead to a war , N. Korea would stand alone, it would only lead to a war if China gave the nod. Sanctions are being debated not military strikes
