Really?!
A) A gay man or woman can easily have sex with the opposite for the sole purpose of offspring [via asking a close friend, another gay male /female of the opposite sex or just having sex with the opposite sex]

B) DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT GENETICS!!!? How do we get all of the genetic defects and diseases -- recessive genes. Genetics is not always direct! There's even two type of recessive [dominant recessive and recessive recessive]

People can be carriers for genetic diseases or traits, why not homosexuality?

[assumes: homosexuality is NOT a choice and that it is biological in origin [aka realistic]]

Well the fact is there are identical twins with different sexual orientations...sort of shoots that theory down doesn't it?

studies show a much higher correlation between twins and homosexuality -- 50 percent
That's much higher than of siblings 20 -30 percent. I said biological genetics isn't cut a dry. A gene can turn on or off like binary code almost. A sets of genes can control just one trait.

I put the assumption of no choice simply because of the lack of evidence of choice [what makes one heterosexual?] And it distracts from the question of ppl's understanding of genetics
[characterized by the twin response, remember one twin may have a genetic disorder while the other may not]

They assume for the same reason they don't send a smart quiet child to a neurologist for a diagnosis when that child says and exhibits signs for a long time of not understanding directions and completely flubbing up numbers--they assume it's something else causing it or that it's all in the head.

I think it's hormones, for gay people, by the way. Not genes.

I've noticed this is a very touchy subject among the gay community. There's a disconnect between what they want to be true, and what is actually true.

The gay community unanimously believes homosexuality is not a choice but has a biological origin. There are only two biological reasons that could cause it: biochemistry or genetics.

If it's genetic then the gene could be identified and then homosexual children could be aborted in the womb. This really scares the gay community, so they opt for the alternative option. Biochemical.

If it's biochemical then it could be possible to change one's orientation with a drug. Again, this frightens the gay community. They envision hoards of bible thumpers forcing this serum upon the unwilling to enforce a homogenized society.

There's only one other cause left. The nurture theory. This also frightens the gay community because it would give ammunition to the bible thumpers's

When scientists discover the cause of homosexuality, I can guarantee there will be a mob demanding to burn the information.

I'm sick of these frightened children. No matter the outcome, you just can't win. Someone will always be pissed off.

I don't know if there is a specific gene for homosexuality, like there is for brown eyes. Sexuality is not as cut and dry as most traits. It comes at a variety of levels, i.e. bisexuals and those that just experiment. Perhaps it does have to do with hormonal levels, but the way in which these hormones are balanced may be genetic, who knows?

I can only pull from my own experiences. Out of 8 female cousins on my mothers side, 8 are bi or have spent a significant amount of time experimenting with it. One of my best mates is one of four girls and they are all bi. A professor friend of mine is one of three girls and they are all lesbians. I mean, it could be nurture in some of these cases, but as for me and my cousins, we all grew up scattered around the globe. All our parents are conservatives that are against homosexuality, so in our case it is not nurture.

I did not choose to be bi. I actually resisted it for many years due to my upbringing. But you can only deny who you are for so long, before it finally gets you.

Your line of thinking is unsuitable and ill inform you why. we are saying we agree gay is genetic. Now we could think of roughly that a minute. Many mutations affliction even features are genetic yet is often factored in or replaced in the process the ambience. Now we could view an test that replaced into achieved whilst i replaced into at college. we could take a tank and place all male bugs in it and create an surroundings suited for them to stay in. over the years they alter mate and reproduce. Now think of roughly how the international operates each and every animal and trojan horse has some style of predator that enables shrink the inhabitants, in spite of the fact that guy does not. ought to it is that the gay gene is a manner of earth to cut back the inhabitants of mankind? whether each and every of the gays got here out of the closet there might continuously be extra that are born.

There is also the classic closet case. Choosing to not come out or not fully realizing until after children are born. People don't want it to be a gene because then they can no longer hate the people who are "making the choice" to be gay.

it may be genetic and may be hereditary. I am a gay male and I've known since I was knee-high to a grasshopper and my mother is a lesbian. Of course, she come out of the closet after I had.

Don't know if that helps, but there is another statistic for your books.

gay men and woman DO reproduce. and they don't have to have sex with each other, either. I have friends who have children through insemination.
ignorant bigots who think we will raise gay children just because we are gay are ridiculous! the majority of us (I'd say 99.99999 % of us) were born and raised from straight parents! so, it must be straight people who pass on the recessive gene, yes?

I think that people who assume that there is no gay gene simply do not want to think that they could or would pass it on to their offspring.
