if the airbag sign ( usually SRS) is flashing it's not normal.it should not flash more than 10 secs. This cannot be reseted by urself or cannot be repaired yourself, so I would say you need to go to a garage. (preferably peugeot dealer) and they will help u out. Do not wait for long, for then it's a safety issue!
yeaa and i also think if it's not alright it might affect ur MOT
hope this would help
Thanks =)

This is a common problem on the 306.The airbag system on your car is 'self checking'.If the lamp is flashing there is a fault with the system but once the fault is rectified the lamp will extinguish itself.A common cause of the fault is the wiring coming loose for the s/belt pretensioners or side airbags.There are some plugs for the wiring under the drivers and passenger seats,unplug these & plug them back in again.Another commmon problem is the passenger airbag wiring behind the glovebox can come loose.
If you are confident you can check these things yourslef but disconnect the battery first.If this doesn't resolve the problem a diagnostic check can be done by a dealer & should cost no more than an hours labour,this will help pinpoint the fault.
Hope this helps.

The light flashing means there is a problem somewhere.
If you were able to "reset" the light, the sensing & diagnostic module (or control unit) will soon sense the same problem and the light wil start flashing again.
What you need to do is take the car to a dealer, who will interrogate the control unit to find out what the problem is. When the problem is repaired, the control unit will recognise that the problem is not there, and the light will return to normal operation.
It should not affect the MOT, as airbags are not a compulsory fitment.

A flashing airbag light will usually mean there is a fault within the airbag system, and you should get the system serviced ASAP. If not, then the airbags may not work in a crash, or they may activate (deploy) at any time.

hi its NOT an MOT issue . the most likely cause of the problem is the seat belt tensioners, the front seat belt pre tensioners have electric cables running to them (always yellow cable) check know-body has kicked the plugs undone under your seats . if this do-sent seem to be the problem take it to any garage with diagnostic equipment. DONT MESS WITH AIR BAGS THEY ARE EVERY DANGEROUS.

usually the fault is with the switch under the drivers seat this can be rectified by disconecting the switch joining the two wires and soldering them bypassing the switch but if you dont know what you are doing get someone who does this is a very common problem but air bags are dangerous

you dont, you take it to a dealer and they will clear the fault for you.
unfortunantly it will cost but it will also fail the MOT with the light on.
