It's...ok. I spent two weeks there when I was travelling the globe and to be fair two weeks was probably enough. The capital Kuala Lumpur isn't that great - just another slightly westernized far east city. However, the further north you go the better (apart from near the boreder with Thailand where there's lots of trouble with islamic terrorism).
The places I loved in Malaysia were the islands of Penang and Langkawi and also the Cameron Highlands. Penang has lots of character and history whilst Langkawi is a great beach destination. The Cameron Highlands are awesome if you don't mind trooping through jungle type walks and tea plantations.
Worth a visit, but 2 weeks might be too long

I went to Malaysia on holiday in May of this year. It was my second time.
I absolutely loved itand would love to go back.
KL has everything you want. It's got some european aspects to it like the designer shops but you definately know your in the east.
Good food, cheap shopping and great attractions (you must go to Batu Caves. It's amazing).
The beach resorts are amazing too. We went to KK and loved it.
Our hotel was exceptional and the staff were so friendly.
I couldn't reccommend Malaysia more, although I would like to keep it a secret cause it's so great I don't want it spoiled by mass tourism.

of course it is.. i think it's the best place to go for a holiday!! i'm a malysian and i've stayed in london for 5 years, but prefer malaysia much much more... at least it's warm throughout the year and has great as well as cheap food...

the food in malaysia are the best!! i love the nyonya food in melaka, penang food - laksa, char kuey teow etc, the nasi lemak, the banana leaf rice, the ba kut teh, and the desserts- ice kacang and cendol!!! mmm!!

i also love going to beachsides such as penang, tioman, redang, perhentian and pangkor.. recently, i went to redang. we went diving and the corals were extremely beautiful.. breath-taking..we went on banana boats too!! totally had a blast!!

genting is a great fun too.. love going to the amusement park.. thrilling and fun!! bukit tinggi and cameron highland are also my favourite..

Yes if you pick your spots:

Try Tioman Island, Penang, Lankawi - they are great.

Also, it depends on what you want to do - the rainforest in the North East is great (but it is fasting month at the moment).

If you don't like the heat try Cameron Highlands or Frazer's Hill

Great beaches, great islands, unspoilt rain-forests, good shopping in Kuala Lumpur, - a very modern city, very friendly people, very cheap, sufficient infrastructure to cater well for foreigners, I love the food.

What more could one ask?
