I act like I'm a crazy lonely old woman and start making up stuff that I've "watched out of my window" that day and tell them about the squirrels in the trees outside and tell them how sweet it is for them to call and talk to me and I go into stories about my "late" husband etc until they hang up on me

I'm on the Do Not Call List, and for some reason, I know longer get a real person on the other end, but I get some automated BS. It pisses me off, because I would normally pick it up and scream in it and just cuss like a sailor. I will get the in-state telemarketers, and when they call, they will let it ring for exactly 7 times, when I get fed up to answer it, they would hang up, so I would call them back. I would catch them by surprise, but they would never call again.

I was being hounded by telemarketers at one stage.I got in contact with the phone company that I am with and asked them if I could get some sort of bar on my phone to stop it.They gave me a web site where I could go on and fill out some details and that should stop them for 6 months, with some company's and 12 months with others.I haven't had a phone call since.

They don't call me, my number is not listed with them. My mobile number is less lucky, as the telephone provider itself calls every now and then (they like harassing prepaid callers into subscriptions) but I'm in telephone work myself, albeit Customer Services. I play the game well enough to have fun and score against them. When I'm not in the mood, I can be quite rude though.

since i am the do not call list and when they call me i know they are ignoring my request, so i tell them hold on for a minute, i put the phone down and walk away.....i wait for 5 minutes and then hang it up....[i know this is not nice,] but it makes me upset that they do not honor my request......i also know that they have a quota of 100 calls per hour or they have to have 4 orders per hour or they will have to step away from their phone and let another caller have a chance... so if they are wasting my time, i feel it is fair to waste their time....

I say "Please put this number on your do not call list." I repeat if necessary and then hang up. I'm on the national list but there are a few types of businesses and charities which are still allowed to call.

Heck do what I do, once you find out it's the
telemarketer.....take the air horn and put it
by the mouth piece and blow it. Trust me
they will never call again, especially when
these pest calls after 9 pm.

If your interested in purchasing one here is
the website.

I tell them now is not a good time, but if they would like to leave me their home number I will gladly call them back! They usually say something like " Well thats not allowed" or "I can't do that" and I ask "Well then why is it ok for you to call me at my home?".
They usually don't call again :)

Pretend I can't here them and keep saying "hello...hello?...they must of hung up!" Then if they call back I get the dog barking so loud that they usually hang up on me.
