The Vredefort Ring in South Africa, 300 km in diameter and 2000 million years old.

The Sudbury crater is 250 km in diameter and slightly newer. The Chicxulub (Yucatan, Mexico) crater is the third largest known, 170 km diameter and 65 million years old.

The one in the Gulf of Mexico is the largest we know of. Science believes the moon was formed when another planet the size of mars hit the earth, that would be the biggest.

My vote is for the dinosaur killer crater, Chicxulub. I believe it is the most massive impact crater found to date.

Some would say that the Gulf of Mexico was cause by a meteor. That would be a very large one, I would say!
