A Free and Open Exchange of Ideas and Information. Also, People have E-Mailed Me to Thank Me for Answers to their Questions from all over the World. And, I Like to see Answers that are better than mine. If I am Wrong about Something, I want to Know it. It's a Learning Process. That is what "Answers" is really all about, not so much the Points.

We answer questions to share our knowledge and at times our cleverness. The point system is used for competitiveness that, for a lot of people becomes like an addiction. Some people strive for the best answers and others strive just for points. For some people to say they have the most points or the most best answers is a huge thing for them. If there was not a point system I think you would find not as many people would be involved and a lot less sarcastic answers.

Recognition. The ability to voice opinions. Getting a "feel" for what goes today. Being in communication with real people, albeit in disguise.

These things seem important to me. I don't like the new world where everything is fake. Although some on YA are a bit "unreal" (to put it politely), some are very intelligent and worth communicating with.

Individuals have thier own personal motivations for answering questions at Yahoo!Answers. The points are one of those motivators which is kinda crazy cause they dont mean anything. Good luck.

What are points? They are a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Because it entertains me. It makes me think about what I think. Because I'm hyperkinetic and I have nothing better to do. Because I have a compulsion to share some insights that channel throug me.

Becoz Animals cannot come and answer them, for them points would be of no deal to blast among their community. But once we come to know (humans) the other person participates in this we start boasting about our self.
