What does that say about their judgement,...........not to mention they are turning on each other now. What does that say about trust?

That's because in government a person is selected to do a job that they are the WORST at.

Case in point - Bush, Condi Rice, Bush's cronies, Brownie "You're doing a Heck of a job", Mickey Chertoff, Foley, etc.

This question is derived in hindsight and largely a misrepresentation of the information available to us- meaning you're trying to manipulate the situation. I seriously doubt Republicans would have allowed Foley in charge had they known any more than I believe that this year's election is already decided...

Based on what I have heard so far, Foley made some improper e-mails to "pages". The e-mails were looked into, although not thoroughly, and found to not be non-threatening. The IMs were of an explicit nature and the person claiming to have received the IMs is 16. The problem with talking on the internet is that you can never see who is on the other end (without a webcam).

Here is what I find interesting: While it is embarrassing for a member of Congress to be caught sending e-mails of this sort to anyone, it is not illegal- or at least to the best of my knowledge at this time. So the blanket "judgement" being made are by those who claim Republicans are self-righteous, judgemental, and homophobic- but Democrats are leading the charge. What's that do to the Democrats' claim to hypocracy? It flushes it.

Democrats: they're for the little guy...so long as you're in their party.

Here's why I feel Democrats have blown it and why you should beware: Foley is openly homosexual. Instead of keeping silent about the issue (letting Republicans shoot themselves in the foot) Democrats chose to force the issue (painting themselves the hypocrites). Instead of taking this golden opportunity to extend a hand to Foley as a gay man (which would have looked decent to any homosexual not Democrat- or for anyone buying into the compassionate Democrat party), they threw him under the bus with the same policy for United States citizens that they're so upset about for President Bush's foreign policy: either you're with us or against us.

What does that say about trust? It says if you cant trust one, you cant trust EITHER party- so do what you feel is right.

As it is, I would guess that the money in question was money that would have gone to his re-election campaign that he no longer applies...something no Democrat would do. You and your conspiracy theories...laughable.

You know I have to applaud the far left leaning heads of the Democratic party. You and your leaders are masters at distraction. I guess it's because you have no positive plans for America you will try and win the Nov. elections by dragging this Foley thing out as long as you can. I could site you so many true stories of people in your party that have done the same thing. And its dispicable for anyone to be a petifile. What was the name of Hillary's book? Oh yeah it takes a village to raise a child, or something like that. Someone in your party should write a new one "it takes a sex scandel to reserect a fallen party" It's so pethetic to watch the dems all of a sudden grow "morals" when a guy in their party a few years ago was convicted of having sex with a minor and then was re-elected 5 more times. Your leaders give a whole new meaning to the word hypocrite.

Foley was appointed in charge of children's projects before the pedophile issue was exposed.
