"Deaths are occurring in Iraq now at a rate more than three times that from before the invasion of March 2003," Dr. Gilbert Burnham, lead author of the study, said in a statement. The study by Burnham, of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and others is to be published on the Web site of The Lancet, a medical journal. ( CNN REPORT )

of course iraq is getting worse. USA bring terrorist to Iraq (or they are terrorist themselves), and these terrorist attack constantly and USA can do nothing to secure Iraq. Saddam is better in sense that he is able to establish at least security in Iraq

You are trying to make conclusions from political campaign propaganda. The following was lifted from the news article on yahoo home page.

The timing of the survey's release, just a few weeks before the U.S. congressional elections, led one expert to call it "politics."

In the new study, researchers attempt to calculate how many more Iraqis have died since March 2003 than one would expect without the war. Their conclusion, based on interviews of households and not a body count, is that about 600,000 died from violence, mostly gunfire. They also found a small increase in deaths from other causes like heart disease and cancer.

Here would be my question back, after US liberation is there now a chance Iraq can become better?

Compared to the 90,000 killed during the three weeks of the Battle of the Bulge in World War 2, or the six million killed during WW2, the numbers you site don't look bad at all.

War is never easy. Support our troops and knock off the sedition. Find more news sources than CNN.

Add to the 655,000 Iraqis dead another 37 US soldiers today making it 3500 or so US soldiers and counting ( terrible isn't it counting body bags ) under George W Bushes watch . No Iraq is not getting better or worse, the US is getting worse.

Don't analyse who were all dead.

It's Iraqies or US soldiers....?

No War, No Invasion, No need to spread the democracy to the world.

We should have killed that many in the first week.If we had we would not have the problems we do.
2,398,343 Americans died last year alone in the U.S..That is without a war.Funny that Iraqi number looks incredibly small.
