Top Cities in Malaysia:-
Kuala Lumpur
Penang
Kota Kinabalu
Langkawi
Port Dickson
overview:-
Malaysia has fervently embraced modern technology -- it boasts two of the world's tallest skyscrapers and a super multimedia/cyber corridor. But it still has some of the world's most remote jungle (in Sabah and Sarawak), one of Southeast Asia's most vibrant old ports (Georgetown) and an atmospheric, colonial hill station (the Cameron Highlands). Even in Kuala Lumpur, the capital, which bristles with ambitious new building projects, you can still find exotic markets and plenty of local color. As a result, travelers to Malaysia can easily ratchet up or down the levels of adventure and comfort they want to experience.
Although Malaysia is an Islamic country, most Muslims there practice a more moderate form of Islam. Muslim women who choose to wear headscarves and modest clothing usually do so with bright and cheerful flair. More conservative followers prevail in the northern states, particularly in Kelantan and Terengganu, where alcohol is strictly controlled and women find increased restrictions on their clothing and activity choices. As a visitor, these things will have little impact on you; however, practicing a bit of modesty in your clothing and attitude will go a long way with winning favor there.
attractions:-
Petronas Twin Towers

I've been to 30 countries, and one place that sticks in my ,mind is Perhentian Islands, on the east coast.
Don't go in rainy season because it's closed.
It's a pair of very small islands, with no roads and no traffic. Travel is by boat, or walking.
It takes less than an hour to cross the larger of the two islands.
Lots of wild life and unspoilt hills.
The water is magnificently clear, and great for diving and snorkelling - warm too.
There is just enough activity to give a variety of places to eat, and it's still very cheap.
I'd say it's worth ten days of anybodies time.

kalooka said Langkawi island is spectacular but he is only half right ! Because there are so many others magnificent islands around [ Tioman, Redang, Perhentian, Sipadan, Mabul just to name a few ], with white sandy beaches n wonderful marine life, perfect for holiday n diving !
Malaysia also have many virgin tropical rain forest where you can go jungle tracking, you too can climb the highest mountain in Southeast Asia that is mount Kinabaru in the state of Sabah.
Then there are some cool highland retreats at Genting[ with theme park n a casino ], Cameron, Fraser, Bukit Larut etc etc !
Great shopping just everywhere from mega malls to roadside traders, but you should buy something that you can't find it back home which is more memorable !
Delicious foods from malay, chinese, indian n western are just anywhere n its cheap too ! but do make sure the eateries are well kept n cleaned !
expect some heavy rain [ sometime flood too ] at the year end between Oct to Jan, where our atmosphere is hot n humid with sunny days throughout almost the year !
Islam ! yes almost 70% Malaysian are muslim but be very sure that they are the very friendly people, in fact most Malaysian are, regardless of their believe n religious ! Welcome !!

Malaysia is a spectacular place to go..
one of the tourist attraction here is KL. it's the capital city of malaysia. there's the petronas twin tower, where you can go up to the 40th floor to see the view of KL. there are tons of shopping mall there including KLCC, Sunway pyramid, Mid Valley Megamall etc. Petaling Street sells faked brand goods such as bags and watches..
besides, melaka is also a great place to go... the nyonya food and chicken rice balls are my favourite. you also wouldn't want to miss a chance of eating cendol and ice-kacang.. jonker street sells a lot of antique and various stuff.. there are historical sites such as the Stadhuys Building and the A'Famosa Fort..
islands like tioman, perhentian, redang, sipadan have beautiful scenary with sandy beaches and crystal clear sea... activities like banana boat, diving and many more are available.. you can go there any time of the year except during the monsoon seasons..
anyways, sabah and sarawak are another part of malaysia.. it's seperated frm the penisular island by the south china sea. there, you can go to the cultral village.. Gunung Kinabalu is an ideal place for montain climbing... Sarawak is very famous for it's pepper and bird nest...
the best thing about malaysia is its food.. malay food include nasi lemak, mi rebus etc; chinese food include dim sum and chee cheong fun etc; indian food include roti canai, thosai etc.. then if u do go to penang, try it's well-known laksa or fried kuey teow.. if u go to johor, try it's lontong.. if u go to melaka, try it's nyonya food..
so, have fun if u do come to malaysia!! =) people here are friendly and very nice... enjoy!!
oh ya, fyi, though malaysia is a muslim country, people here are free to take in any religion..(i'm a buddhist) they are very open-minded and aren't like how as said by acid toungue above..
