Hey man screw all these people who write you off as shallow or whatnot because of your question. They have an easy time pointing the finger but in your shoes I bet they would have packed up and split a long time ago. We'd all like to think we are all so noble and whatnot that we would stay with our spouse if they gained 1000 lbs but the truth is physical attraction is the first thing that draws us to a person, true later we make deeper connections that by now you should have, but we are first attracted to outward beauty. I bet if you gained 200lbs women on here would be telling your wife to ditch her fat slob husband and get someone who respects himself enough to look good for her;.

I would like to know why you got married in the first place? When you marry someone, it's because 1)you fell in love with her/him, 2) her/his presence makes all your problems disappear and 3) for better or worse remember? Do you really love her? If you do, then why not help her out. Suggest going to the gym together. Try cooking healthy foods for her and for yourself. You should not walk out on a person you love. You should be there for them as a support system. Remember this, what your mind sees and what your heart says are two different things. The only reason you want to leave her is because she gained weight, right? If you sat down and really thought about how much you really loved your wife, then you wouldn't walk out on her. There's a reason you married her, right? Be there for her just as she's been there for you.

Is there a reason? Is there something wrong, depression, or anything, or does she just sit around eating Twinkies and not caring anymore? Some women think that after they're married, it's ok to let themselves go, they stop shaving their legs, trimming the bush, and get fatter by the day. That's not very fair to the husband...he is now waking up to a stranger. Some men are guilty of this too...if it's " I caught my man" syndrome, give warning, then...let the games begin!

this is a difficult question. did you fall in love with her because of her looks? people do change and nobody will stay the same, even guys. they can go bald or get a pot belly. ask yourself this question, if you gained 150 lbs since you got married and your wife was thinking twice about leaving you, what would you think?

did you marry here because she was thinner, If so prettty shallow. she might have a medical problem and needs help. Thats what a good marriage is about, helping and sharing, not everything will be the same as time goes on.

yes you should leave since your not supporting your wife, your spouse has some issues going on in her life and you want to be a chicken and run away, why did you get married anyways, my vows said for better or worse.

where is the love? How have you contributed to her weight gain? did you marry her because of the way she looked? why don't you go out and exercise with her and love her more so that she in turn will continue to love herself. If you continue to criticize her about her weight she will resent you. I am sure she is using food to comfort herself. Why don't you offer your love as a comfort instead?
