My girlfriend finally got her period, 6 weeks after her last period as her last period came 2 weeks early. This time she explained it was very heavy and she suffered quite a bit with period pains. Her period lasted only 3 days (she usually has a period for 5 days) and on the first day of her period she started the contraceptive pill, she thinks it could be that. Before she came on we were a little worried she could be pregnant as we had unprotected sex a few times (not full, just entered a few times - not that it makes much difference I know!) and the month before her last period, she had taken the morning after pill. We've done 4 pregnancy tests in the space of 3 weeks before this period, all came out negative. Any advise? Is this anything to worry about? She is anemic

You do get false negative tests, but from the sounds of it she is probably not pregnant. But it would be in her interest to go and see her gp. If there are any problems then he can do the necessary checks. If she is usually regular then this irregularity should be checked out. Better to be safe than sorry. :o)

Don't worry this is because she has took the pill, when you take the pill the first day of your period it shorterns your period and the first few weeks she might notice a few bits of bleeding don't worry about that either that is normal, she won't be pregnant and the period pains should calm down now she is on the pill. I know all this because I used to take the pill read the paper you get with the pill it will explain everything in there.

I wouldn't worry too much all sounds normal to me. Well done on finally sorting out your contraception!! If you are still concerned, take another pregnancy test just to be sure but I am sure it will be negative. Its really nice to hear that a man is concerned about this situation and being responsible as part of a relationship. Good luck to the both of you I am sure everything will be just fine.

its probably her body adjusting to the pill, it can cause lighter periods is some women, so I wouldnt have thought she was pregnant.
I get asked this a lot in work, and would say the same. If you are concerned, of course go to the gp, but I doubt very much its pregnancy, just body adjusting.

i think her light period is due 2 alot of stress...
just relax ok.. im sure there's nothin 2 worry abt. in order 2 make sure, take her 2 an ob-gyne... dat way, both of u can relax
& nxt tym, dnt ever do unprotected sex if u see urselves not yet ready 4 bigger responsibilities

You do not say how old you and you girlfriend are but you sound very young and confused
The best person to give you advice is the person who prescribed the pill

It doesent seem that she ispregnant.... It does however seem that you are extremely stressed about the situation :(
Just dont make the same mistake next time - have protected sex and you wont have to deal with these worries hun :)
